Leadership Mentoring

My perspective on Leadership is big.  Really BIG.
  • Leadership is an inside job first, foremost, and eternally.  The evolution of your own consciousness is of the utmost importance.  You cannot lead your tribe any further than you have gone yourself. I'll help you go one-half step further.  That's it.  Just one-half step.  And then, another.
  • Of course, your outside behavior has to match your inside values.  If you are conscious of it, and don't act on it, there is room for personal growth. Acquiring new skills that can be immediately practiced can be exhilarating.
  • Leaders edify their tribe.  They work the culture so that values resonate uniformly throughout the tribe.  Everyone knows what is important.  They have a shared vision. Leaders help their tribes by bringing clarity to their culture so that the tribes work as a unified whole, even as the tribe continues to develop and mature.
  • And Leaders do whatever it takes to help their people to function at a high level of performance.  Standard Operating Procedures are put in place for everything.  That way, everyone knows what to do and everyone executes with proficiency. Leaders help everyone to get stuff done.

Sometimes I mentor a Leader on the job,
and sometimes we sit in my office and work together. And then, sometimes we use Skype or Google Video.

Where you need to grow is likely to be different from where the Leader down the street needs to grow.  We start with you, where you are, and we design and re-design steps for you to take so you can grow in each of the four areas noted above.  One size doesn't fit all, and so you and I would have to put our heads and hearts together, to artfully craft a plan that will take you one-half step ahead of where you are now.

To do so would bring me enormous gratification.
